CLASSIC 5 LD FIREPROOFING |
Fireproofing Products by The Schundler Company |
SCHUNDLER CLASSIC 5 LD CEMENTITIOUS FIREPROOFING has to be sprayed in accordance with U.L. designs. Some of the most commonly used column sizes are given our U.L. Design No. Y726, but not all columns.
When a column is being used that is not listed in the U.L. design, it is important that the right thickness of fireproofing is applied. In the U.L. design, there is a formula that can be used to determine the required thickness of fireproofing for specific columns and for specific fire ratings.
The problem is that often designers, contractors, and code officials can't calculate the required thickness because no one knows the W/D ratio of different columns, or they don't know the "Heated perimeter of a steel column in inches."
This page has been designed to help those trying to make these calculations. By using the following formula and W/D ratios, the required thickness of sprayed-on SCHUNDLER CLASSIC 5 LD CEMENTITIOUS FIREPROOFING Fireproofing can be determined.
The formula given is:
